Guide
Hey guys Daia here. I’m a master rank player from nz and here’s my guide on Crustle. To start off Crustle is one of my top picks for defenders and hopefully i can make him yours.
Emblems:
6 orange (try prioritise emblems that reduce sp atk)
4 white
4 blue (look for mixed coloured emblems with orange and white to get the set bonuses)
If you have played Crustle then you should know how easy it is to score small goals with this Pokémon. Early game you should be focusing on trying to get 6 goals to fully stack up your attack weight and aeos cookie.
Try and score while having 2-5 aeos coins in hand to speed up scoring goals and guarantee stacks for held items with the use of score shield. Once you have 6 stacks on attack weight and aeos cookie just start roaming around the map assisting your team and leveling up on wild Pokémon.
Some of you may be wondering why I listed aeos cookie and that’s because its synergises well with your ult and score shield. More health means bigger shields for scoring (score shield scales off of max hp) and your ultimate move (also scales off max hp) which maximises your potential as a tank in team fights while attack weight gives you a good amount of damage for x-scissor.
One of the beauties of taking score bell with this setup is in the late game when you have accumulated a lot of coins and the timer hits 2 mins. 90% of the time when the enemy team is dawdling around Rayquaza (or whatever the centre Pokémon is) you can activate score bell and get your team a quick 100 points. Now if you’ve been scoring nonstop all game and the enemy team sees you scoring at this moment they’re either going to:
1) split off and try to stop you from getting that goal which gives an advantage to your team at Rayquaza
Or
2) just allow you to score and head to Rayquaza
Now if you’re there at the 2:05 min mark and scoring while utilising score bell you should have plenty of time to get back to your team and assist them with the team fight. Remember that as long as you time when it is you’re actually scoring the goal (not buffering) and the timer hits 2 mins, the points that you’re scoring will be doubled.
Final tips: early game take 2 of the wild Pokémon heading into lane and go straight to enemy goal zone and score while maneuvering through bushes. Try and steal wild Pokémon near the enemy teams goal zone using wild cutter and score as often as you can.
Wild cutter is a great last hitting move in the early game and it also serves as a buffer for your next basic attack (auto attack reset) so learn your timings.
If you’re struggling with scoring early points just wait until you get shell smash at level 4 and then start playing aggressive with scoring points.
Shell smash can nullify the slow effects of enemy teams lane behind their goal zone so always try and steal their heals whenever you have hp missing to put them at a disadvantage.
Hope you all do well and good luck with the rank climb !! 👌🏽
Works Well With

You can make up for her lack of mobility by keeping the enemy away with x-scissor or shoving them into wall and stunning them so she can hit her spells. Her unite move can force enemy Pokémon into grouping which can lead to you getting an x-scissor off on their whole team.

Good survivability and area damage when you front line with your ult and take all the aggro. You can help him disengage from fights when’s he’s low using x-scissor.

This is a fun duo partner when you have a good team mate or a friend that knows what they’re doing. Instead of taking shell-smash take the wall and get nine tails to shoot her second ability (frost wind that pushes) at the walls you put up and then get her to use her 1 st ability (the one that makes an ice wall) to lock them in. It’s upto you whether you pair it with x-scissor to push them into the frost zone she makes or stealthrock just to make more area damaging zones. Very fun to pull off with friends and good team mates.
