Guide

Now, I know what you're thinking. Shell Bell??!?!?!?! Isn't that item terrible and bad and unusable and in the same tier as Float Stone and Rocky Helmet??? Not quite. See, when everyone found out the heal has a 10 second cooldown, and activates even at full health, they all hopped on the bandwagon of hating it. It offers cooldown reduction and special attack, two pretty important stats, especially for a build like this that revolves entirely around your cooldowns. Choice Specs is a good alternative, I just like cooldown reduction a lot, especially when it pairs with your innate cooldown reduction you get as you level up.

Powder Snow has more damage and a lower cooldown, always pick it first.

Avalanche/Blizzard are there, because the devs don't really understand their own game, so they keep buffing less used movesets on weak characters instead of just... buffing the character. And I'm kind of upset, because not only is there no reason to use the Gleam/Veil set I like more, there's just not much reason to use Ninetales in general right now.

Using Avalanche and Blizzard together, then using the unite move immediately after Blizzard when they're frozen will deal ridiculous damage. Energy Amp further increases that damage, and the cooldown reduction is incredibly helpful for a build like this that revolves around your cooldowns.

Buddy Barrier gives a huge chunk of HP to a squishy character like Ninetales, and gives you shields during the unite move that you're popping off with in team fights anyways, so it's basically a must pick (just like how it's a must pick in general).

I explained Shell Bell at the start, but TL;DR cooldown reduction good, special attack good, and the heal is still pretty helpful sometimes. I like to think that 9 heals on a 10 second cooldown during the span of what would otherwise be Focus Band's 90 second cooldown is pretty good, and offers more value than Focus Band could. Even if I wasn't running Shell Bell, I would run Choice Specs anyways. Screw Focus Band.

You need the mobility in general, and the playmaking capability during your Unite Move to extend its range, so Eject Button is your best battle item.

Works Well With

Mamoswine

freezie weazie ez peasy. Both these characters laning together is incredibly strong, and gives Alolan Ninetales a genuine niche worth running it for.

Crustle

create walls do the big funny blizzard freeze hehe

Wigglytuff

wigglytuff is broken and gives you more crowd control lol
