Guide
Swift does more damage than Baby Doll Eyes if you aim at least 2 of the stars into a target, so I pick Swift first for faster clears.
Mystical Fire is just more fun to me, and it's still really effective and versatile, so I use it. It's great for helping clean up in fights, for pushing, or for zoning enemies away from a goal or objective. It also helps lower the damage output of enemy special attackers like Gengar, Blastoise, Mr. Mime, Pikachu, Cramorant, and Gardevoir.
Draining Kiss's multiple hits help build up your Adaptability passive faster, and its healing allows you to continue farming wild pokemon instead of having to go back and heal more safely. It also offers support to both you and your team by slowing down opponents.
Since you're always basic attacking, due to how Mystical Fire works, and Muscle Band calculates damage based on the enemy's max HP, it adds more damage than any other held item to this build. The increased attack speed also synergizes with your passive.
You have plenty of sustain already, and I don't really like Focus Band that much (90 second cooldown, defenses don't help much against burst damage), so I prefer to run Choice Specs for the extra burst damage, to help clean up fights and final hit wild pokemon and objectives.
You get your Unite Move at level 8, earlier than the vast majority of characters in the game, and it's very helpful the moment you get it, so Buddy Barrier is very helpful with it. You want to swing as many games as possible in your team's favor at early objective fights with Sylveon's unite move at level 8. It also helps Sylveon scale better into lategame, and the shields allow you to soak up damage safely while you're healing up due to your Unite Move's effect.
I use Eject Button, because it's what I'm comfortable with, and because Sylveon doesn't have particularly great damage scaling formulas. Despite that, I still like X Attack sometimes, and because you're doing lots of individual hits on targets, Fluffy Tail can be pretty helpful for laning, as well as for objectives. Full Heal can help you deal with crowd control if you find it particularly troublesome.
You can reposition during your unite move with Eject Button, which is the biggest reason I run it, since I can reposition Sylveon's landing to hit at least one enemy who doesn't expect it. This can have massive impact in lategame team fights if used well. It also helps you aggressively finish off targets that run out of range of Mystical Fire's dash.
