Guide
I pick Feint first to get over the fence to the Lilipup. Basic attacks will take it out before Ludicolo spawns, so you don't miss out at all by not picking Slash.
If you end up forced into lane, or if you're really insistent on playing lane Absol, it might be better to pick Slash first to take out the Aipoms in the speed flux zone quicker. If you run lane Absol, you may want to switch out Razor Claw and Scope Lens for Score Shield and Attack Weight, then fiend for 6 scores right away. I still think Absol is far better in center/jungle, due to the character's main strength being maintaining an experience lead and snowballing the game early on, which jungle experience allows it to do by getting Night Slash as soon as possible. Even if Absol is currently low tier, there is very little in this game that's scarier than Absol approaching after their first jungle clear with Night Slash.
Night Slash is more consistent than Pursuit while hitting pretty hard, being versatile with both parts of the move, so I've been picking it ever since its buffs.
I overall prefer Sucker Punch to avoid burst damage, crowd control, and help hunt down targets, since it can be a secondary form of mobility, and it's supportive by slowing and shoving targets.
If I want an easier time taking out bulkier targets and/or objectives, then I will pick Psycho Cut instead.
Psycho Cut has really good matchups against Defenders and Supports, while Sucker Punch has really good matchups against Attackers and Speedsters, and both do well against All-Rounders, so I recommend picking between them based on what the enemy team comp is and what you're most comfortable with.
Buddy Barrier helps in team fights, gives extra HP, which Absol really needs since it has lower HP than any melee character in the game, and the other two items are to supplement your damage and crit rate as much as possible.
I prefer Eject Button, but Full Heal is very good, and Potion may have niche use cases. X Attack can be used if you want to run an all-in playstyle.
Other good battle items for Absol you might be more comfortable with depending on your playstyle are Fluffy Tail or Goal Getter.
